VP, HR Director Responsible for management of all Human Resources administration, programming and employee relations activities, including such areas as recruitment and onboarding, compensation and benefits, HRIS reporting, performance management and employee development. Provides HR counsel to internal business unit leadership and employees, and represents HR on appropriate bank committees and projects. Oversees the daily function of the HR team and development of individual team members. Responsible for budget, HR-compliance and policies, and developing appropriate metrics to evaluate programs.

Duties and

  1. Offers thoughtful leadership to HR team that incorporates both organizational and people-related goals and strategy. Provides team direction and manages day-to-day operations of HR department; coaches, trains, develops and manages performance of HR team to established bank and department KPI’s.
  2. Key liaison with business unit/support department management to provide counsel for optimum results regarding meeting current and future performance standards and other employee opportunities.
  3. Provides focus to Employee Relations to resolve issues and build relationships in a manner that defines the organization as a desirable place to work.
  4. Serves as brand advocate. Assists with development and implementation of an employer brand strategy and working with Marketing-Communications team, ensures that employer brand and the corporate brand are working in Tandem to move forward the goals of the bank.
  5. Oversees employee compensation programs including wellness, benefit and retirement plans; negotiates various benefit plans and proposes cost-effective alternatives; directs the administration and disclosure of information regarding the employee benefit plans; ensures compliance to federal and state employee benefits and insurance laws and regulations.
  6. Successfully manages a performance management program and the practices needed to meet bank’s vision, mission, and goals.
  7. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Serves as the organization’s primary contact for employee related regulatory and legal issues. Updates and directs communication of any changes to policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
  8. Responsible for the company’s affirmative action, diversity & inclusion, and equal employment opportunity initiatives, reporting and compliance.
  9. Ensures team maximizes use of HR technology such as HRIS, ATS, Paycor and others.
  10. Manages service providers and vendors effectively; structures relationships with service providers in a strategic manner; sets expectations; develops performance metrics; measures vendor performance, provides feedback and holds accountable.

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience leading Human Resources function in the financial services industry is preferred.
  2. Experience developing and implementing Human Resources programs and strategies is required.
  3. Experience leading multiple Human Resources disciplines with an emphasis on Employee Relations is required.
  4. Experience managing a team is required.
  5. Computer proficiency:
    MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word or similar software is required. HRIS, ATS, Payroll systems and software is required.

Education and Experience

  1. Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar discipline is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
  2. Certification:
    PHR, SPHR, CEBS, CCP is preferred.
  3. Years of human resources
    10-15 years is required.
  4. Years of experience managing a team:
    minimum 3-5 years is required.
