HR GENERALIST (SPANISH BI-LINGUAL)
Frozen food manufacturer located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks immediately an HR Generalist with a minimum three (3) years similar work experience to provide support to the HR department by interpreting policies, procedures and processes. In addition, the HR Generalist will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting and employment, safety, and training. Conducts/Assist with On-Boarding and Spanish/English translation. Maintains various monthly/quarterly reports to support the business objectives designed to minimize legal exposure, enhance productivity, performance management, and achieve maximum retention of human capital.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Ensures all HR-related policies are applied consistently.
- Assist and answer employees’ general questions, completing employment forms or other general forms.
- Oversees “Resume” email box and onboarding schedule. Recruitment includes posting in the cafeteria (Employee Bulletin Board) and other areas visible to employees. Post on social media (Indeed, LinkedIn, Zip Recruiter, etc.) conduct outreach at different locations, and assist with interviewing applicants, etc…)
- Maintains and coordinates with HR Manager on employee training and records retention.
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws.
- Spearhead internal employee survey and associate engagement survey
- Assist with HR initiatives as directed by HR manager or company principals.
- Prepares, coordinates and presents HR related and other HR and safety related training.
- Assist/Lead safety committee meetings monthly; disseminates safety topics weekly
- Acts as the diversity champion by leading assigned tasks and corporate diversity activities including diversity recruiting, retention and promotion goals.
- Maintain accurate submission of Union Remissions reports as per CBA.
- Assist with progressive disciplinary action for both Union and Non-Union (non-exempt) employees as needed.
- Update and maintain weekly employee employment records in the filing and electronic system.
- Assist with benefits administration and Workers’ Compensation issues as needed.

Language Skills: Bilingual (required). Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to compose grammatically correct emails. Ability to effectively present information to large crowds as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Spanish-Bilingual required.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
- PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
- Three (3) plus years human resources generalist experience required, management experience a plus.
- HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
- Previous experience as part of a centralized HR environment, preferably in a corporate setting. Ethical practice; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.
- Content-knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures, and programs
- Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
- Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Presentation skills a plus+.
