The Struggle and Why YOU Should Take This Course

Early in your career, you can waste months trying to manage teams with diversity and inclusion initiatives. Despite all your efforts, you’ll remain completely lost because:

  • You lack a formal background in diversity and inclusion
  • You find that the courses offered in the industry are either too jargon-filled or lacked sufficient depth.
  • You don’t have insider tips or the right resources on how to manage hard conversations around race, gender, and disability.

To become a better management professional, we went down the rabbit hole to understand what it takes to build a successful diverse and inclusive culture from the inside out. We interviewed thought-leaders within the industry. We learned the behaviors and habits of successful managers of diverse teams and documented our own experiences.

The Diversity and Inclusion Certification Course was created for management professionals, HR professionals, or people who want to brush up on their human resources skills. In this course, we teach the fundamentals of diversity and inclusion, how to create a great organizational culture, and how to implement D&I strategies from succession planning to training.

What are you going to get from this course?

Over 120+ lectures, 15+ case studies, and exclusive interviews (more added over time) with DEI professionals.

Learn key fundamentals of diversity and inclusion, how to work with diverse staff, and how to manage hard conversations. You’ll also get access to:

  • Instructor feedback on your capstone project (DEI initiative proposal)
  • Exclusive interviews with current diversity and inclusion professionals from companies and their recommendations on how to use your knowledge to create a better organization.
  • Case studies to inform how you should act on the job.
  • The process of answering the hardest questions about race, culture, disability, and gender in order to become a better manager.
  • A certificate of completion upon finishing the course

Bonus Content:

  • We are 100% committed to adding more BONUS course content and interviews with HR leaders over time (we love all things human resources and highly enjoy adding content!) and you’ll get FREE LIFETIME ACCESS to all future content!

I just want to say thank you for creating this training, I have learned so much through this section alone, and I cannot wait to do the two other sections. I appreciate the time that you took to do all of this, I am so excited to use what I have learned here at the dealership!” – 5/5 stars

“I want to begin by extending my sincere gratitude for your DEI Certification course. This course prompted me to begin discussions with everyone at Prince George’s County Government (Maryland) in order to enhance our talent acquisition strategies to reflect our telework opportunities and the surrounding counties in the District, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area.”

+ - What is diversity and inclusion training?

A Diversity and Inclusion Training Course is a great way for management professionals to learn strategies and tactics on how to create a diverse and inclusive workplace. The HR University Diversity and Inclusion training gives you insights into unconscious bias, provides tools on how to combat discrimination at work, and offers guidance about what questions should be asked during interviews. It is important that every company invests in diversity and inclusion training because not only can it improve employee retention rates but organizations will also have greater productivity outcomes.

+ - What are some of the benefits of diversity and inclusion training?

Some of the benefits of this type of training include improving your organization’s culture, better understanding employees needs, and becoming knowledgeable with legal regulations (EEOC). Other benefits include improved quality of work through varied perspectives and creative ideas, better customer satisfaction by meeting diverse needs, and more innovation as a result of people from differing backgrounds collaborating to generate new solutions to problems.

+ - What are three ways you can help create a more inclusive environment?

In order to make your company more welcoming and inclusive you can set clear policies on how employees should behave towards one another so everyone knows what is expected and where they stand. This includes making sure there’s no tolerance for harassment of any kind. You can also make sure there is ample representation of diverse backgrounds in every department, not just senior leadership. This includes recruiting and hiring a workforce that reflects the demographics of your customer base so you can better understand their needs. The third way is you can find ways to celebrate differences among team members by hosting events focused on different cultures or bringing speakers into the office who are leaders from multicultural communities

+ - How can I show my certificate or proof of completion?

Upon completing the Diversity and Inclusion Certification Course, you will receive a digital badge and an e-certificate. You can download both e-documents and showcase them on your website, or share them with colleagues, managers, and, in case you’re in a recruiting position, new HR candidates.

+ - How can employers and managers verify my certification status?

There are two ways you can confirm your certification status. The first is with the e-certificate and digital badge that you will receive upon completion of the course, and the second being via the certification portal. Each online certificate comes with a verification link that redirects to HR University, where managers and/or potential employers can verify your certification status.

+ - Why is diversity training important?

Diversity training is important because it helps make the workplace a safe space for everyone. Diversity is more than just hiring people from underrepresented backgrounds, it’s about making sure your company has different interests and perspectives represented in order to create new solutions to problems that can’t be solved by one person or group of people alone. Plus, having an inclusive environment will help increase employee satisfaction as well as productivity.
