If you have a passion for Human Resources and you’re looking for an exciting, new Generalist contract opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.

What you get to do every day

  • Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
  • Create & /or support a recruitment plan according to business and operational projections
  • Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department
  • Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
  • Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
  • Assess employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
  • Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Draft templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
  • Employee relations, including engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
  • Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters

  • Prior experience implementing and coordinating Open Enrollment is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal business skills
  • Candidates who are highly professional, as well as able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity, will be preferred
  • Experience with full cycle recruiting
  • Skilled in technology applications and software, as well as social media platforms
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
  • Prior HR Generalist experience preferred
  • Prior experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Proven understanding local, state and federal laws
  • B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
